8 Ways to Reconnect with Yourself

Do you find yourself feeling like you’re disconnected from you? do you feel as though you dont know yourself anymore, or that you’ve lost sight of your purpose, your being and you. With the daily hustle and bustle of life do you find yourself feeling as if you are just losing sight of yourself?

Here are 8 ways you to reconnect with yourself : 

  1. Acknowledge that you feel lost . This is the first step.
  2. Try to set aside a day every two weeks where you allocate the full day to yourself. On this day you can do anything you have been wanting to do, it may be trying a new activity.
  3.  Notice and name your feelings through journaling. Writing is a powerful tool which can enable us to further understand ourselves.
  4. Engage in an activity that you haven’t done in a while or try a new activity by yourself.
  5. Try sitting in silence with yourself and observing your thoughts.
  6. Try doing meditation. There are many different types on youtube or spotify. You can download the tapping app or calm app.
  7. Try to create a new habit, whatever it may be. Drinking more water, developing a new skill, making your bed every morning
  8. Try going on a grounding walk, sometimes the disconnection we feel is because we aren’t living in this very moment. Try going for a walk and concentrate on the sounds of the cars rushing by, the wind, your footsteps. Sometimes all we need to feel connected to ourselves again is to bring our minds back to this very moment.

With life being so busy it can be so easy to feel disconnected with yourself. Try to engage in one of these activities weekly and make it a habit to prioritise yourself- You matter !
