Shain Christian Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

About Shain

Relationships can feel overwhelming when communication breaks down or emotional safety fades. Couples often come to therapy feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or stuck in repetitive conflict and unsure how to find their way back to one another.

I help couples slow down and reconnect with their emotional experience so they can speak to each other from a place of vulnerability instead of defensiveness. Using emotionally focused therapy, I support partners in uncovering the deeper longings and fears beneath the surface so they can begin to repair, rebuild trust, and move forward with a renewed sense of clarity and connection.

As a husband in an interracial marriage, Shain has a personal understanding of how cultural dynamics can shape relationship experiences. He is passionate about supporting couples from diverse backgrounds, particularly those navigating issues of identity, power, or emotional distance within their relationships.

Types of Therapy: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred, Humanistic

More than just my work:

My relationship is one of my greatest teachers. My wife and I stay connected by exercising together, planning our next travel adventure (we’re always anticipating our next destination), and bonding over our shared love for all things Marvel. We also never skip our weekend tradition of slow Sunday mornings, with a coffee and tea in hand. Those quiet moments remind us that connection often happens in the simple, shared rituals of daily life. I believe that joy, play, and emotional safety are just as vital as communication, and I bring that belief into my work with couples.
